Gayle Oram became a Master Decorative Artist from the Society of Decorative Painters in 1980 and has been a judge for their certification program for 30 years. She received her Vesterheim Gold Medal in 2000 after attending a number of Vesterheim Folk Art Tours and studying the styles. She has taught seminars in England, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, as well as throughout the United States. In her studio in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, she conducts a weekly class and paints for three to four shows a year, plus commission work. She enjoys designing wood pieces and painting all styles of rosemaling and European decorative flowers.
