- This class is for students who have completed one of the Introduction to the Basic Strokes of Rosemaling classes.
If you have already tackled one of the Introduction to Basic Stroke Work of Rosemaling classes with Lise, we welcome you back with fun sessions to continue your journey and learn basic stroke work with a new pattern and project! Join us for more S and C scroll painting. Keep on dipping your brush in the paint and toe in the waters with other rosemalers. Develop your technique further and meet new friends. The class will include demonstrations and plenty of hands-on practice. Students will be provided with all the supplies and materials needed to practice strokes and complete a project on a wooden board, including brushes, paints, medium, the project board, sandpaper, and a palette knife. The class will be taught using acrylic paint. The listed class times include three Zoom sessions on Saturday, January 8 (10:00-11:30 am and 4:30-6:00 pm CT) and Sunday, January 9 (10:30 am-Noon CT) as well as time on your own spent working on the stroke work and class project.
If you are new to rosemaling, consider taking the introductory level class offered on March 11-12. Don't hesitate to contact Andrew Ellingsen, Folk Art Coordinator, with any questions you may have (email@example.com).
Supplies: A complete kit of supplies (a $60 value) is included in the cost of enrollment. You'll also need a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
Special Instructions: When registering for the class, please make sure to use the address you'd like the kit shipped to, and the email address you'd like the Zoom meeting invitations sent to. You will receive links to the Zoom sessions by email sometime during the week prior to the class. If this class is a gift, please sign up with the recipient's mailing and email addresses or be prepared to forward all communications and/or kit supplies.

About the Instructor
Lise Lorentzen’s love of rosemaling began at the age of 11 during her first class at the local Sons of Norway Lodge. Her rosemaling can now be found throughout the United States, Canada, and Norway and has had the great fortune to attend classes with many renowned Norwegian and American rosemaling artists, including an apprenticeship with Eldrid Arntzen, VGM, in 2009. Lise has been awarded nationally for her work and continues to share rosemaling through her commission pieces, galleries and shows, social media and teaching. Lise has a BA in Art History and a MS in Special Education. A former educator in New York City, she now resides in Maryland with her husband, three kids and two dogs.
