- Level of Instruction
- Students need to have completed Level 1 - Norwegian Language Starter Session.
Join us for a continuing course in the Norwegian language! We will explore a variety of vocabulary and grammar topics including, but not limited to, what interests us about Norway, the various methods we use to learn a language, outdoor life in Norway, and clothing! The weekly class meetings will happen on Zoom for an active, conversation-based hour. If you like, you’ll get activities to extend your learning between class meetings. Bli med oss! (Come join us!)
This class consists of eight Zoom sessions on Tuesdays, February 1 - March 22 from Noon-1:00 pm (CT).
Each registration is for one participant. If more than one family member is interested in enrolling in this course, please register for each person separately. Each person will need their own learning materials. For a successful learning experience and best practice for online language development, we encourage you to take the class from separate devices if possible. If not possible, please notify Vesterheim Folk Art School after registration so we can communicate this information with the instructor and accommodations will be made.

About the Instructor
Evelyn Galstad, or Eddy as she is known to many, is an instructor of Norwegian language with Vesterheim. She is a recent graduate of Luther College, where she studied Vocal Performance and Nordic Studies. Last spring, Eddy worked closely with Professor Maren Johnson in an internship focused on curriculum development for Vesterheim’s after-school program, Norsk Skole. Her interest in Norwegian language and culture started young, beginning with her family ties to Norway and then deepened as she started attending Skogfjorden, the Norwegian village at Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji, Minnesota. For the past four summers, Eddy has taught Norwegian at Skogfjorden and has loved her time there. She is so excited to continue teaching at Vesterheim and cannot wait for the adventures ahead!
