Traditional bunader (folk costumes) would not be complete without the beautiful brooches that make them so unique to Norwegian culture. Explore the tools and techniques that go into the intricate construction of traditional sølje. Building on skills from Freya’s Fantasy Filigree class, you will create a small fine silver filigree brooch with delicate silver “spoon” drops in the custom of historical bunad brooch styles. All tools and materials are provided. There is a materials fee of $125, payable to the instructor.
