Collection Connections is a series of Vesterheim-hosted conversations between the museum’s collections staff and folk-art school instructors. Highlighting the incredible folk-art collection at Vesterheim, these conversations are also opportunities for you to stay connected with your folk-art community during this unpredictable time. Each gathering will highlight a piece or two from the collection as explained, interpreted, and appreciated by a master folk artist. The online gathering will also include the opportunity for the small group of participants to show and share what you’re working on in the safe way we can – digitally!
Share your lunch break with tinwork instructor Kitty Latané and Vesterheim Collections Manager Jennifer Kovarik as they highlight handmade tin lanterns and light holders from the collection which will inspire your creativity and enhance your understanding of the immigrant experience. Time at the end will be provided for you to connect with other folk art enthusiasts, ask questions, and share one thing you are working on during this time of staying home.
Supplies: A computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
Special Instructions: You will receive a link to the Zoom session by email sometime during the week prior to the group meeting.
Enrollment Deadline: September 13, 2020
Registration for this class has closed.
