Share your lunch break with knitting historian Laura Ricketts and Vesterheim Curator Laurann Gilbertson, as they highlight Sámi mittens from the collection, which will inspire your creativity and enhance your understanding of Sami contributions to the knitting world.
Time at the end will be provided for you to connect with other folk art enthusiasts, ask questions, and share one thing you are working on during this time of staying home.
Collection Connections is a series of Vesterheim-hosted conversations between the museum’s collections staff and folk-art school instructors. Highlighting the incredible folk-art collection at Vesterheim, these conversations are also opportunities for you to stay connected with your folk-art community during this unpredictable time. Each gathering will highlight a piece or two from the collection as explained, interpreted, and appreciated by a master folk artist. The online gathering will also include the opportunity for the small group of participants to show and share what you’re working on in the safe way we can – digitally!
Supplies: A computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
Special Instructions: You will receive a link to the Zoom session by email sometime during the week prior to the group meeting.
Enrollment Deadline: October 18, 2020
